Security Officer Attacked and Stabbed By Suspect in Missionlands - KZN

A Security Officer & a habitual criminal have sustained serious head injuries during a break-in in progress at a factory in Missionlands - KZN yesterday morning (Sunday).

Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call via radio at 08:12 from a female Security Officer seeking immediate assistance when she realised that her male colleague was being stabbed while investigating noises on an industrial premises that he was guarding.

Reaction Officers got to the scene at 08:14 and found the Security Officer bleeding profusely and holding on to the suspect who was armed with a brown handled knife.

The suspect was immediately restrained. When interviewed the Security Officer explained that he noticed the suspect climb a tree and gain entrance into the premises.

He briefly lost sight of the suspect & while searching the premises, he found that forced entry was being gained to the building. While trying to apprehend the suspect, he was stabbed & struck on the head with a rock.

The 29 year old suspect (picture 2) suffered extensive head injuries during the arrest.
