One of local SASSA offices in Mkhondo in Mpumalanga have been temporarily closed for a second week now, after an alleged incident of witchcraft that was caught on on security video footage.
It's believed that one of the managers at the SASSA offices invited about 3 sangomas to perform rituals inside the offices, and according to a report that was written to Social Development MEC, one of the sangomas can be seen on the video, moving from one office desk to the next, "kneeling next to officials' chairs with needles and red candles while doing some recitation."
This revelation came after some officials working at the SASSA offices raised concerns about suspicious remnants of needles that were scattered all over the offices including their tables. It was then that a decision was taken to view security video footage to try to find out what might have happened.
Officials working at the SASSA offices say they are traumatized and not ready to return to work after seeing the video footage.
The footage is making rounds of social platforms where a man wearing Sangoma attire is moving from one working station to another performing rituals after all staff have
knockoff.
