Cash In Transit Heist in Verulam KZN
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) are currently (Wednesday, 17:27) standing off at the scene of a Cash In Transit robbery.
Motorists travelling on the R102 reported several shots being fired and an explosion. Further information received was that suspects had utilised explosives to blow up a vehicle.
On arrival, Reaction Officers discovered that the suspects had just fled.
RUSA Members are attempting to locate the driver and his crew.
Update
The driver and his crew have been located.
They informed members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) that 15 heavily armed suspects in two vehicles boxes them in and robbed them of their firearms.
The victims fled into a bush while the suspects utilised explosives to blow up their vehicle and remove the cash.
Authorities are on scene and investigations are underway.
