A false hijacking report has led to a truck driver being taken in by police for questioning following swift interception by tracking responders and law enforcement units, in Maydon Wharf, earlier this morning.
The PT Alarms Tactical unit members responded to a report of an alleged hijacking incident on Bayhead Road. The tracking device of the white Scania truck was immediately activated.
The PT Alarms Tactical unit members together with Tracker Connect managed to intercept the truck on Hamburg Road in Bayhead.
It was further discovered that the driver and an accomplice conspired to steal chrome which led to the false hijacking report.
Maydon Wharf SAPS responded and the driver was taken in for further questioning.
The responders are commended on their sterling work on the field.
