Caught in the Act: Wife’s Shocking ‘Farm Attack’ Plan Exposed

Anelle de Bruin (46), a farmer's wife from the Aliwal North district in the Eastern Cape, has been arrested for allegedly plotting to have her husband murdered in a staged "farm attack." Unbeknownst to her, she had hired a police informant to carry out the crime.

According to reports, De Bruin instructed the informant to kill her husband, Johan (56), along with anyone who stood in the way, at 8:00 PM on Wednesday, 8 January 2025. However, police arrived that evening and arrested De Bruin.

When questioned, Johan, her husband of 15 years, expressed shock, stating, “Not at all,” when asked if there had been any marital issues.

De Bruin was charged with conspiracy to commit murder and appeared in court on Friday, 17 January 2025. She was granted bail of R2,000 under strict conditions and is set to appear in court again on 5 March 2025.
