ELEVEN SUSPECTS LINKED TO SPIKING ARRESTED AND ONE FATALLY WOUNDED ON R80, N1, N4

There have been scores of attacks on these roads over recent days.

Members of Tshwane District received information about a group of suspects that are committing crimes along the National and Provincial roads in Tshwane - that is N1 , N4 and R80.

The team pounced on a stand in Winterveldt north of Pretoria where a group of ten males were found and cornered by the police.

One of them wrestled with the police and was in possession of a firearm.

He then ran towards one of the officers while holding the firearm and the other police officials fired one shot to stop him to attack the other members.

The suspect was shot dead.

The other suspect who was arrested is a female.

She runs an illegal shebeen and this is where the suspects met.

The deceased suspect is known and is linked to four Pretoria North robbery case with a firearm and rape and also the alleged mastermind of crimes along the R80, N1 and N4.

Three other suspects in the group of ten are also allegedly involved in the R80 attacks.

Police seized a black replica firearm and several other items.
