A disturbing video circulating on social media exposes a concerning lack of hygiene at a store run by foreign nationals in South Africa.
The clip shows people using a narrow pipe to extract water from a visibly dirty toilet, which then enters a tank labeled as supplying “purified water”, the water is then sold to residents.
The video then shows a glimpse of the surrounding of the toilet, which includes the bed, a two plate stove and some dirty kitchen utensils. Which indicates that the people who are working at the spaza shop also use the shop as their place of residence.
This footage has ignited widespread outrage among South Africans, who are expressing shock at the obvious neglect of hygiene and the well-being of local communities.
Many social media users have criticized the shop owners, alleging a disregard for the individuals they cater to and a lack of respect for their customers.
